Mercure to host Ballarat’s COVID-19 vaccine hub, due to open within weeks | The Courier

Ballarat’s Mercure Hotel and Convention Centre is to become a mass COVID-19 vaccination centre as the state government announced a new target to vaccinate 300,000 Victorians by the middle of next month. State health minister Martin Foley announced this morning that the Mercure Ballarat and Melbourne Showgrounds would be activated in the coming weeks as high-volume vaccination centres. No start date for the Mercure vaccination centre was set. The sites join five existing mass vaccination centres across the state plus dozens more hospital vaccination hubs, sub-hubs, and outreach delivery services that have so far vaccinated 129,537 Victorians in the high-priority phase 1A and 1B risk groups.
