Coronavirus in Ballarat: Jury trials set to resume this month | The Courier

Jury trials in the Supreme and County courts will return to Ballarat on May 17. The first criminal trial in regional Victoria since the COVID-induced suspension last year will empanel a jury in Geelong this week, with other cities to follow. A joint Supreme and County court media release states all hearings will be made COVID-safe for juries. IN THE NEWS “The Courts have already resumed in-person hearings in non-jury criminal and civil matters in several regional court locations where Supreme and County Court matters are heard as well as continuing hearings using remote technology where appropriate,” it states.
